Debra Thompson is a member of the firm’s Dispute & Risk Management Department. She has had considerable litigation experience, in particular, the areas of insurance, medical negligence, commercial litigation and arbitration and has been involved in several arbitrations involving construction contract as well as medical negligence. Debra Thompson also has oversight of the Corporate Secretarial Practice Group.
As an Instructing Attorney of over 30 years, she has extensive working and practical knowledge of the Civil Proceedings Rules and also possesses management skills in a commercial environment. She relates to and understands clients’ needs on a practical level, including commercial demands for prompt and solution-oriented results.
She is comfortable with matters involving voluminous documentary evidence and the use of local and international expert witnesses. Using good communication skills, she offers solid response and feedback. A firm believer in ADR, she is particular skilled in providing excellent support to clients throughout the duration of a matter.
